Inter Milan secured a comfortable 2-0 victory away at Cremonese, moving eight points clear at the top of Serie A as Cristian Chivu’s side continued their charge for the Scudetto with their 11th win in 10 league matches (D1).

From the outset, Inter dominated, taking advantage of a Cremonese side still seeking their first win since early December. Early chances came for both Pio Esposito and Petar Sucic, but it was Inter who opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Federico Dimarco’s outswinging corner was met perfectly by Lautaro Martínez, who headed home his 13th league goal of the season.

Cremonese nearly responded immediately from a corner, but Federico Ceccherini’s effort narrowly missed. Just as the hosts were gaining a foothold, Piotr Zielinski doubled Inter’s advantage around the half-hour mark with a thunderous 25-yard strike into the top-right corner.

The second half saw a brief stoppage when Emil Audero went down after a flare was thrown near his goal, but play soon resumed. Cremonese had a few late opportunities, including Alessio Zerbin being denied by Yann Sommer and a low drive that struck the woodwork in the final 10 minutes.

Despite sporadic chances, Inter remained largely in control and saw out the remaining minutes comfortably.

The win extends Inter’s unbeaten run and keeps them well ahead of AC Milan, who travel to Bologna on Tuesday. Cremonese, meanwhile, remain winless in nine league matches (D3, L6) and hover just six points above the relegation zone.
