Historic Silver for Bormla Subbuteo Club at the ECSTFA Champions League

Bormla Subbuteo Club have made history by claiming a silver medal at the ECSTFA Champions League, finishing runners-up after a hard-fought 1–3 defeat against Italian powerhouse Frat. Bari Reggio Emilia in the final.
This result marks Bormla’s first-ever podium finish in the prestigious European competition, which featured 19 clubs from Malta, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Greece, and Great Britain. For the Italian champions, it was a record tenth title, while for Bormla, it represented a milestone achievement after years of steady progress.
A Record-Breaking Run
Founded in 2009, Bormla Subbuteo Club surpassed last year’s fifth-place finish to achieve their best-ever result in their 12th participation in the tournament.
The Road to the Final
Bormla dominated Group A, winning all five matches:
- 3–1 vs Hennuyer B (Belgium)
- 4–0 vs Issy/Boss (France)
- 3–0 vs Bologna Tigers (Italy)
- 2–1 vs Fiamme Azzurre Roma (Italy)
- 4–0 vs Yorkshire Phoenix (England)
In the quarter-final, they claimed a convincing 3–0 win over Stembert (Belgium), followed by a tense semi-final victory against Valletta SC (Malta) — progressing on goal difference after a 2–2 draw to secure a historic place in the final.
