Ħamrun Spartans produced a commanding performance to advance comfortably in the FA Trophy Round of 32, defeating Victoria Hotspurs 5–0 on Saturday at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in Hamrun.

The Premier League side dominated from the outset and never allowed their visitors from Gozo to settle, scoring early and constantly threatening throughout the contest.

The scoring began in the opening stages, with the first goal arriving in the 5th minute through Shaizen Attard, setting the tone for a dominant team display. Ħamrun continued to apply pressure and added further goals in the 61st (Joseph MBong), 63rd (Ryan Camenzuli), 72nd (Ndri Koffi) and on 73rd minutes (Jovan Cadenovic), sealing a comprehensive victory that saw them safely through to the next round of Malta’s premier cup competition.

The Spartans controlled possession for much of the match and created a host of scoring opportunities, while Victoria Hotspurs struggled to break through an organised home defence. Ħamrun recorded a significantly higher number of shots and dangerous attacks, reflecting their superiority across all areas of the pitch.

This result continues Ħamrun Spartans’ strong momentum heading into the heart of the domestic season, as they balance cup ambitions with their league and European commitments. The victory also marks one of the more emphatic results in the early stages of the FA Trophy, highlighting the Spartans’ depth and attacking threat as they look to progress further in the competition.

The win sets up Ħamrun Spartans for a Round of 16 tie, where they will look to maintain their form and continue their bid for FA Trophy glory.
