Birkirkara FC secured their place in the next round of the FA Trophy with a 3–1 victory over SK Victoria Wanderers, overcoming a spirited challenge from the Gozitan side.

The match started at a lively tempo, with Victoria Wanderers showing early intent and causing problems for the Stripes. Their positive approach was rewarded in the 34th minute, when Samuel Harland found the net to give the underdogs a surprise lead and put Birkirkara on the back foot heading into the latter stages of the first half.

After the break, Birkirkara responded with renewed urgency and control. Their persistence paid off in the 54th minute, as Lucas ‘Macula’ Ribeiro De Oliveira struck the equaliser, finishing confidently to restore parity and shift the momentum firmly in Birkirkara’s favour.

The Brazilian forward continued to be a constant threat, and just twelve minutes later, in the 66th minute, Macula struck again to complete his brace and turn the tie around. His second goal proved decisive, draining belief from the Victoria Wanderers side.

Birkirkara then sealed the outcome in the 69th minute, when Jan Busuttil added a third goal to give the Stripes a commanding cushion and put the result beyond doubt.

Despite their early breakthrough and disciplined effort, SK Victoria Wanderers were unable to contain Birkirkara’s second-half surge. The Stripes managed the closing stages professionally, seeing out the match without further incident.

The win sends Birkirkara FC through to the next round of the FA Trophy, offering a timely confidence boost as they look to regain momentum and build consistency in the weeks ahead.
