Germany international Karim Adeyemi has been hit with a €450,000 fine for the unlawful possession of weapons, after police discovered two prohibited items in his possession. Although sanctioned, the Borussia Dortmund forward will not receive a criminal record.

Authorities confirmed that Adeyemi was issued the fine following the discovery of the weapons, which included items classified as illegal under German firearms legislation. In Germany, the acquisition, possession, or carrying of such weapons can lead to fines or prison sentences of up to three years. Offenses involving brass knuckles, when used to commit acts of violence, can result in penalties of up to ten years in prison.

The financial penalty imposed on Adeyemi corresponds to 60 daily rate units—a calculation based on income. Given the 23-year-old’s earnings, the total amounted to approximately €450,000. Chief Public Prosecutor Michael Burggräf confirmed that the penal order became legally binding on 30 October.

When approached for comment by German outlet BILD, Borussia Dortmund stated that the club takes all “criminal allegations” seriously, adding that such matters are handled internally with due confidentiality.

Despite being registered in the Federal Central Register, Adeyemi will not be classified as criminally convicted, since German law only considers a conviction applicable after 90 daily units of fines.

As of now, Adeyemi has not made any public statement regarding the case.
