Former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has insisted that Spurs are too strong a side to be dragged into a relegation battle.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has dismissed any suggestion that Spurs could be involved in a relegation fight, insisting the club have far too much quality for that scenario.
Eriksen believes his former side possess enough talent and depth to stay well clear of danger, even during periods of inconsistency. He pointed to the overall standard of the squad as a key reason why relegation should not be a concern.
While acknowledging that form can fluctuate over a season, the Danish playmaker stressed that Tottenham’s attacking strength and overall ability make them too strong to be dragged into a battle at the bottom of the table.
His comments underline confidence in Spurs’ long-term competitiveness, even as the team continues to go through transitional phases.
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has admitted it is painful to watch his former club struggle from afar, while expressing confidence that they will avoid relegation.
“It hurts to watch from the outside. It’s annoying,” Eriksen said, adding that a club of Tottenham’s stature “has to play in the Premier League.”
He also backed Spurs to turn their situation around, saying: “It will be exciting to see if they can do it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping they do. They’re too good to go out, but that’s what you say about almost all teams that go out. But player by player, they’re too good to get relegated.”
Tottenham currently sit on 31 points from 33 matches and are just two points behind West Ham United, who are narrowly above the relegation zone. With five games left to play, they remain in a tense battle for survival, although Burnley FC and Wolverhampton Wanderers have already been relegated.
Eriksen’s comments highlight both concern and belief, as Tottenham enter the final stretch of the season under pressure to secure their Premier League status.
