Final Four Set for Blackball Champion of Malta Tournament

Four players are set to battle for a place in the final of the prestigious Champion of Malta tournament, organised by the Malta Blackball Federation, as the competition enters its decisive stage tonight.

Reigning champion Johan Attard, Glenn Axiaq, Stephen Mangion, and Gary Carr secured their spots in the semifinals after a series of impressive quarterfinal victories. Attard produced a dominant display, sweeping past Clint Azzopardi with an emphatic 8–1 win. Axiaq emerged victorious from a tense and thrilling clash against Clayton Castaldi, edging it 8–7. Meanwhile, Mangion overcame Miguel Amato 7–4, and Carr booked his semifinal berth by defeating Conrad Catania 8–4.

Tonight’s semifinals will see Stephen Mangion take on Glenn Axiaq, while Johan Attard faces Gary Carr in what promises to be two high-quality matchups.

The grand final is scheduled for tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. at the MBF Arena in Birkirkara, where the 2025 Champion of Malta title will be decided.
