Eze scores hat-trick as Arsenal rout struggling Tottenham

Eberechi Eze stole the show with a hat-trick as Arsenal outclassed Tottenham Hotspur, running out 4-1 winners in a Premier League clash that extended the Gunners’ longest winning streak in North London derbies this century to four matches.
The game began at a frantic pace, with Eze creating the first real chance within three minutes, flicking a pass to Declan Rice. Rice’s volley was well-struck but straight at Guglielmo Vicario before deflecting off Kevin Danso and going behind.
Arsenal’s early pressure continued. Cristian Romero blocked Mikel Merino’s shot, while Bukayo Saka caused problems for Destiny Udogie but saw a free-kick sail over the bar after being fouled by the wing-back. Spurs’ attempts to slow the game frustrated the Emirates crowd as Arsenal searched for a breakthrough. Jurrien Timber’s strike lacked conviction, and another Saka free-kick was comfortably saved.
The deadlock finally broke in the 36th minute. Merino delivered a perfect pass to Leandro Trossard, who controlled and struck a shot on the turn that deflected off Micky van de Ven, wrong-footing Vicario.
Five minutes later, Arsenal doubled their lead. Eze created space in the box and fired a shot that grazed Van de Ven before slipping past Vicario. He wasn’t done there—within 40 seconds of the restart, he received Timber’s pass and expertly tucked the ball into the bottom corner for his second.
Tottenham briefly offered a spark as Joao Palhinha dispossessed Martin Zubimendi, allowing Richarlison to score a stunning long-range effort—their first shot of the match. Further frustration followed for Spurs when Romero was booked for dissent, ruling him out of the upcoming Fulham fixture.
Eze completed his dream hat-trick in style, collecting Trossard’s pass, outsmarting Udogie, and calmly finishing. He later had another attempt saved, but his display drew roaring applause from the home fans.
Arsenal extended their unbeaten streak across all competitions to 15 matches and sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Spurs, meanwhile, have won just once in their last five fixtures, losing three, and currently occupy ninth place.
