Dr Matthew Paris appointed to FIFA Futsal Committee

Dr Matthew Paris, Senior Vice President of the Malta Football Association (MFA), has been selected by FIFA to serve on its prestigious Futsal Committee.
Dr Paris is one of 19 members drawn from the global football community who were appointed by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and FIFA General Secretary Mattias Grafström to form part of this key committee, which oversees the development and strategic direction of futsal worldwide.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr Paris highlighted the positive momentum of futsal in Malta. He noted that the Maltese national futsal team reached the main round of qualification, while the Under-19 national team successfully consolidated its position at international level.
“From an administrative perspective, the MFA enjoys an excellent working relationship with the Futsal Malta Association (FMA), whose President Mark Borg was recently nominated as a delegate for the upcoming UEFA Futsal Euro Finals. At club level, Luxol St Andrew’s Futsal has once again left its mark, while from a player development standpoint, Malta has managed to export three local talents to leagues abroad. All of this has not gone unnoticed by the international futsal community,” Dr Paris stated.
The FIFA Futsal Committee is chaired by Vadim Lašenko of the Latvian Football Federation and plays a central role in shaping the future growth and governance of futsal across FIFA’s member associations.
