Luka Dončić recorded a 38-point triple-double as the Los Angeles Lakers mounted a second-half comeback to defeat the Denver Nuggets 115-107 on the road in Colorado on Tuesday.

The Nuggets appeared in control after a dominant first half, leading 71-57 at the break thanks to 26 points from Jamal Murray. However, Los Angeles tightened up defensively after halftime, limiting Murray’s impact, while Dončić and LeBron James kept the offense flowing to complete an impressive turnaround.

Dončić finished with 38 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists, while James contributed 19 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. The Lakers outscored Denver 58-36 in the second half to secure the win.

“They were playing great basketball, Murray at an All-Star level … they have a lot of great players,” Dončić said. “We just stayed together and fought this out.”

The victory improved the Lakers’ record to 26-16, while third-place Denver slipped to 29-15.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors, still reeling from Jimmy Butler’s season-ending knee injury, fell 145-127 at home to the Toronto Raptors. Immanuel Quickley led Toronto with 40 points in a wire-to-wire victory.

In Houston, the Rockets overcame a 16-point deficit to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 111-106, snapping San Antonio’s three-game winning streak. Reed Sheppard scored 21 points off the bench, including 12 in the fourth quarter, while Alperen Şengün added 20 points and Kevin Durant finished with 18. A 13-0 run in the third quarter helped Houston erase the Spurs’ advantage.

“We had good energy the whole game,” Sheppard said. “When we cut the lead a little bit in the fourth, it was just ‘keep fighting, stay together, keep putting the pieces together and go on a big run.’ And that’s what we did. It was a great team effort.”

San Antonio started strong, outscoring Houston 39-28 in the first quarter and leading 70-60 at halftime, but shot just 7-of-28 from the field in the fourth and missed all 13 three-point attempts. Julian Champagnie led the Spurs with 27 points, while Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox added 14 apiece.

Other notable results included:

  • The Chicago Bulls hitting 25 three-pointers in a 138-110 rout of the Los Angeles Clippers, with Coby White leading the scoring with 27 points.
  • The Utah Jazz upsetting the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-122 in Salt Lake City, as Keyonte George scored 43 points, overshadowing Anthony Edwards’ 38-point effort.
