Doets knocks Aspinall out of the World Darts Championship as Manby extends his run

Kevin Doets produced a stunning comeback to defeat 15th seed Nathan Aspinall 4–3 and book his place in the last 16 of the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace on Monday.
The Dutchman came alive late in a dramatic London contest, landing three ton-plus checkouts across the final six legs as the match went the distance to a deciding set.
Set to face former world champion Luke Humphries next, Doets took advantage of Aspinall’s erratic finishing to claim a sixth consecutive victory over the Englishman.
“That was insane,” Doets told Sky Sports. “I had a rough start and was lucky to be level at 2–2. I felt I should’ve been ahead, but he took out 170 to make it 3–2. After that, though, I was on fire — I just couldn’t miss.
“This is exactly what you dream of. Reaching the last 16 for the second year in a row means a lot, and now I want to go even further.”
