At the ongoing Indian Wells tournament, Djokovic was eliminated in the round of 16 by defending champion Jack Draper, and he will now miss the next stop of the renowned ‘Sunshine Swing’.

His absence in Miami means Djokovic will forfeit 650 ranking points, dropping him at least to fourth place behind Alexander Zverev. He is expected to return to competition in early April on clay in Monte Carlo

Novak Djokovic has lifted the Miami Open trophy six times and reached the final on eight occasions, sharing both records with American legend Andre Agassi. The Serbian star last made the final in 2025, losing the title match to Jakub Mensik.
