Bank of Valletta is proud to announce the winners of the BOV Basketball Players of
the Month Awards for February 2026, celebrating three outstanding athletes who
delivered exceptional performances across Malta’s leading basketball divisions. The
awards were presented to the winners by Ernest Agius, Chief Operations Officer at
Bank of Valletta, during a brief ceremony held at the Ta’ Qali Basketball Pavilion.
In the BOV 1st Division, Starlites guard Jackson ThreadGill distinguished himself as
the month’s most impactful performer. ThreadGill delivered an impressive offensive
output, averaging 24.67 points per game and accumulating 66 points across three
fixtures. His aggressive style of play drew significant defensive pressure, with
opponents committing an average of six fouls per game against him, while he
maintained composure at the line by converting 20 of 30 freethrow attempts.
ThreadGill’s contribution was further underscored by his heavy minutes load, spending
over 33 minutes per game on court and consistently driving Starlites’ offensive rhythm
throughout February.
Luxol’s Olivia Wikstrom has been named the BOV Basketball Player of the Month for
Februaryin the women’s division, marking her third individual award of the season.

the league with 25.25 points per game, accumulating 101 points across four matches.
She also dominated defensively and, on the boards, averaging a league-best 15.94
rebounds and 3.71 steals per game, while also contributing 3.53 assists per game.
Her consistent impact at both ends of the court was instrumental for Luxol and further
underlined her status among the league’s top performers this season.

following a month marked by consistent scoring and highenergy play. Bugeja
registered 99 points in four outings, averaging 24.75 points per game, and
complemented his scoring with 4.32 assists per game, demonstrating his capacity to
balance personal offensive output with effective team involvement. His physical style
of play also saw him absorb 5.25 fouls per game, reflecting the difficulty opponents
faced in attempting to contain him.
Bank of Valletta extends its warmest congratulations to all three winners and reaffirms
its commitment to supporting the development and visibility of basketball and local
sporting talent across Malta.
