Bormla Subbuteo Club dominates in Vienna with third consecutive Austrian Grand Prix Title

Bormla Subbuteo Club has further cemented its status as the world’s top-ranked club after securing their fourth victory in five years at the FISTF Grand Prix of Austria – Royal Flash Cup 2026. The winning squad—featuring Christian Haas, Wolfgang Haas, George Ebejer, and Jason Pisani—delivered a flawless performance, winning every match they played in Vienna.
The team cruised through the group stages with victories over AS Hennuyer (3-1), TSC Phoenix (3-0), and TSC Royal 78 C (3-0). They maintained their momentum in the knockout rounds, defeating TSC Royal 78 A 4-0 in the semi-finals before clinching the title with a 2-1 win over Belgian side ST Stembert. Notably, ST Stembert’s run to the final was bolstered by Maltese talent
John Zammit. This victory marks Bormla SC’s third consecutive win at this event, securing their #1 FISTF World Ranking for another month. In individual action, both George Ebejer (Open Category) and Jason Pisani (Veteran Category) reached the semi-finals of their respective divisions.
Ebejer’s impressive run included high-scoring wins over Daniel Vranovitz (7-2) and Marios Strommer (9-2) before he was narrowly defeated 1-2 by Steffen Despretz in the semis. Pisani showed defensive mastery with three 5-0 shutouts in the group stage and a quarter-final win on shots before falling 1-2 to David Busch in the semi-final. Meanwhile, John Zammit narrowly missed the knockout stages on goal difference despite strong wins over Georgios Dimakeas (5-0) and Robert Green (4-0).
