Bernardo Silva Confirms Manchester City Exit at End of Season

Bernardo Silva has confirmed he will leave Manchester City when his contract expires this summer.
The 31-year-old Portuguese international midfielder and club captain made the announcement on Thursday, bringing an end to his spell in English football at the conclusion of his current deal.
Silva is completing his ninth season at Manchester City, having joined from Monaco ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
During his time at the club, the midfielder has made 451 official appearances, placing him sixth on Manchester City’s all-time list for appearances.
“When I arrived nine years ago, I was chasing a childhood dream — hoping to succeed in life and achieve something special. This city and this club gave me far more than I ever imagined.
“What we have won and achieved together will remain a legacy I will always carry in my heart. The Centurions, the domestic quadruple, the Treble, four league titles in a row and much more… not bad at all.
“In a few months, it will be time to say goodbye to a city where we not only achieved so much as a football club, but where I also began my marriage and my family life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Ines and Carlota,” Silva wrote on social media.
A product of Benfica’s academy, Bernardo Silva left Lisbon in 2014 to join Monaco. After three seasons with the Principality club, the midfielder made the move to Manchester City, where he is now completing his ninth and final season. During his time in England, he has won numerous trophies, including the Champions League and six Premier League titles.
This season, serving as captain, he has featured in 44 official matches, scoring three goals and registering five assists.
