Barcelona continued their impressive home form with a commanding 3-0 victory over Real Oviedo, recording their eighth home win of the 2025/26 LaLiga season by a margin of two goals or more. The result leaves Oviedo rooted to the bottom of the table, now eight points from safety and without a win in 14 matches (D7, L7).

Despite their lowly position, Oviedo began brightly and were the better side in the early stages. After 15 minutes, the visitors had enjoyed more possession and created the clearer chances, troubling their more illustrious hosts. Barcelona were forced to rely on Eric García’s defensive interventions, while their attacking trio of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal struggled to find rhythm and looked short of energy.

As the first half progressed, the pattern remained largely unchanged. Oviedo’s midfield, led by the tireless Ilyas Chaira and David Costas, consistently won second balls and disrupted Barça’s flow. The Camp Nou crowd voiced its frustration, but the breakthrough failed to arrive before the interval. The closest opportunity came in stoppage time, when Raphinha’s powerful volley was expertly saved by Aarón Escandell.

The hosts emerged with renewed intensity after the break, showing far greater urgency. However, Oviedo continued to press confidently until Dani Olmo broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute, drilling a low effort into the far corner.

Barcelona quickly seized control. Five minutes later, Raphinha capitalised on a misplaced back pass from Costas, delicately chipping Escandell from the edge of the box. Soon after, Lamine Yamal produced a moment of brilliance, meeting Olmo’s cross with a spectacular scissor kick to effectively settle the contest with 15 minutes remaining.

The victory lifts Barcelona back to the top of LaLiga, underlining their dominance at home. For Oviedo, the defeat extends a difficult run at Camp Nou, where they have now lost eight of their last 10 meetings with the Catalan side (D1, W1).
