Felix Auger-Aliassime successfully defended his Montpellier Open crown, defeating France’s Adrian Mannarino 6–3, 7–6(4) in Sunday’s final.

The 25-year-old world number eight delivered a composed and clinical performance to claim his ninth ATP Tour title, securing his second triumph at the ATP 250 event in southern France.

“Adrian is always a tough player to face — for anyone,” Auger-Aliassime said. “It’s a great feeling to win again. I’m very happy with my week.”

Auger-Aliassime did not face a single break point throughout the match, controlling proceedings against the home favourite in just over 90 minutes. A fast start allowed him to seize the opening set, while the contest tightened in the second as both players held serve to force a tie-break.

Trailing 4–2 in the breaker, the Canadian raised his level at the crucial moment, winning five consecutive points to seal the victory.

His path to the title included impressive wins over three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka, along with French players Arthur Fils and Titouan Droguet.

The triumph moves Auger-Aliassime ahead of Milos Raonic as Canada’s most successful men’s player of the Open Era in terms of ATP titles and will see him rise to world number six in the next ATP rankings update.
