Napoli moved three points clear at the top of Serie A — at least temporarily — after Frank Anguissa’s second-half header sealed a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Lecce, condemning the hosts to a miserable home run of just one league win in 15 matches (D5, L9).

Buoyed by their crucial win over Inter last time out, Napoli began with confidence and control, dominating possession in the opening stages. Mathías Olivera had an early chance to open the scoring but headed narrowly wide from close range.

Lecce slowly found their rhythm as Medon Berisha fired wide from the edge of the area, while at the other end, Olivera forced Wladimiro Falcone into a solid save with a sharp angled effort. Clear chances remained scarce before the interval, with Francesco Camarda blasting over on the turn for the hosts.

Determined to end a six-game winless run against Napoli (D2, L4), Lecce started the second half brightly and were handed a lifeline when Juan Jesus was controversially penalised for handball inside the box. Camarda stepped up to take the penalty, but Vanja Milinković-Savić produced an excellent save to deny the 17-year-old and keep the game level.

Napoli took full advantage of that escape midway through the half. In the 69th minute, David Neres delivered a superb free-kick into the area, and Anguissa met it with a deft glancing header into the far corner — his fourth Serie A goal of the season.

Lecce pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but Napoli’s defence held firm to secure a sixth consecutive away win in this fixture and extend their lead at the Serie A summit.
