Darren Abdilla named Coach of the Month for December
Gżira United head coach Darren Abdilla has been voted VBET Coach of the Month for December following an impressive run of results.
Abdilla was one of only two coaches — alongside Floriana’s head coach — to record victories in both matches played during December, in Matchweeks 13 and 14.
Under his guidance, Gżira United claimed a convincing 3–1 win over Naxxar Lions before edging Tarxien Rainbows 2–1 to maintain their positive momentum.
The VBET Coach of the Month award was presented to Abdilla on Wednesday by Adam Calleja, Business Development Director at SoftConstruct Malta.
This accolade is particularly significant as Abdilla becomes the first coach to win the award with two different clubs, having previously claimed the same honour on two occasions last season while in charge of Floriana.
