Floriana FC have continued to bolster their squad ahead of the second half of the 2025/26 season with the announcement of their second signing in quick succession, securing the services of 26-year-old Bosnian midfielder Alen Kurtalić.

Kurtalić joins the Greens from FC Bishkek City of the Kyrgyz Premier League, becoming the second player to arrive at the club from the same side, following the recent signing of fellow Bosnian Kenan Dervišagić. The move underlines Floriana’s intent to add both quality and depth as they prepare for the decisive stages of the campaign.

A naturally disciplined and composed defensive midfielder, Kurtalić spent last season competing in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s top division, the Premijer Liga Bosne i Hercegovine, with FK Sloboda Tuzla. During his spell with the Tuzla-based club, he established himself as a regular starter, earning praise for his work rate, tactical awareness, and ability to shield the back line.

At the beginning of the current season, Kurtalić made the move to Kyrgyzstan, where he featured prominently for FC Bishkek City. He made 12 appearances in all competitions and contributed three goals, showcasing his ability to support attacking phases despite operating primarily in a holding midfield role.

Across his career, Kurtalić has amassed over 100 appearances in the Bosnian top flight, a testament to his consistency and experience at a competitive level. His arrival is expected to bring added balance, stability, and leadership to Floriana’s midfield options.

Head coach Daniel Portela now has further tactical flexibility as the Greens look to maintain their strong form and push their objectives in the second half of the season. With the squad taking shape through targeted reinforcements, Floriana appear determined to remain competitive on all fronts as the campaign progresses.
