Zurrieq FC returned to winning ways in the BOV Challenge League with a convincing 4-1 win over Zebbug Rangers at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The crucial victory lifts Zurrieq into the mid-table pack as the league standings continue to tighten.

Zurrieq established an early lead, with Shaun Bugeja finding the net after just 10 minutes. Jonathan Monney doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute, giving Zurrieq a comfortable 2-0 cushion heading into halftime.

The second half saw Zurrieq maintain control. Jhoel Sarraude extended the lead further in the 61st minute. Zebbug Rangers found a glimmer of hope when Dylan Agius converted a penalty in the 72nd minute, reducing the deficit to 3-1.

However, Zurrieq quickly extinguished any hopes of a Zebbug comeback, with Sarraude scoring his second goal of the match just two minutes later (74th minute) to seal the dominant 4-1 victory.

The win moves Zurrieq up to 12 points in the competitive league table, while Zebbug Rangers remain anchored at the bottom with just a single point.
