University of Malta and Zero Sei Finish Year on Top as Futsal Season Ends in Style

The final round of fixtures in Maltese futsal delivered plenty of goals and drama across both the men’s and women’s championships, bringing the year to a close with University of Malta Futsal and Zero Sei Futsal firmly established at the summit of their respective leagues.
Men’s Championship
The men’s league concluded with several emphatic results. Santa Venera Lightnings Futsal celebrated their first win of the season in style, overpowering Futsal Selection U19 8–2 in a match effectively decided before the interval, as the Lightnings surged into a four-goal lead by half-time.
League leaders University of Malta Futsal underlined their authority with a resounding 11–0 victory over GŻR Birżebbuġa St. Peter’s Futsal. Argentine attacker Cristian José Fernández stole the headlines with an outstanding five-goal haul. Luxol St. Andrews Futsal also maintained their unbeaten record with a remarkable 17–4 triumph over Żejtun Corinthians Futsal WA, with Brazilian forward Ferreira contributing five goals of his own.
In a key encounter for the upper reaches of the table, Marsaskala Futsal Legends secured second place thanks to a convincing 9–3 win against Sliema Futsal Fort Fitness. Schembri led the way with a hat-trick as Marsaskala finished the year strongly.
After Matchweek 7, University of Malta Futsal lead the standings with 18 points from six matches. Marsaskala Futsal Legends follow on 15 points from seven games. Luxol St. Andrews Futsal and GŻR Birżebbuġa St. Peter’s Futsal are level on 12 points, while Żejtun Corinthians Futsal WA sit on nine. Sliema Futsal Fort Fitness and Santa Venera Lightnings Futsal each have four points, with Futsal Selection U19 on three. Futsal Selection U17 remain without a point after six matches.
Women’s Championship
The women’s championship also produced an entertaining finale. Parn Mela Rockets Futsal earned their first point of the season after a spirited comeback against St. George’s Futsal, recovering from a four-goal deficit to secure an impressive 4–4 draw.
Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus continued their consistent form with a 4–1 victory over Swieqi United Futsal LECO7, strengthening their grip on second place. At the top, Zero Sei Futsal ended the year in emphatic fashion, cruising to a dominant 9–0 win over St. Andrew’s Futsal to extend their unbeaten run.
Following Matchweek 6, Zero Sei Futsal lead the women’s standings with 16 points, ahead of Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus on 13. St. George’s Futsal are third with 11 points, followed by Swieqi United Futsal LECO7 on seven. St. Andrew’s Futsal have three points, while Parn Mela Rockets Futsal complete the table with one point, with all teams having played six matches.
The final round wrapped up the year on a high note, setting the stage for an intriguing continuation of the futsal season ahead.
