The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) has reportedly begun discussions with national team coach Carlo Ancelotti over a new long-term contract. Talks have been ongoing for several weeks, with expectations that the agreement will be finalized at the start of 2026.

According to ge, the plan is for Ancelotti to remain in charge through the 2030 World Cup, completing a full cycle with the Selecao. CBF leadership has praised the Italian’s early tenure, noting that he has quickly helped put Brazil back on track.

Ancelotti, meanwhile, has expressed satisfaction with life in Brazil after a few months in the role. He has adapted well to the national team setup, which allows him to balance work with family commitments split between Canada and Rio de Janeiro, and has indicated a desire to continue as head coach.

Currently the world’s highest-paid national team coach, Ancelotti earns approximately €10 million per year. His current contract also includes a €5 million bonus if Brazil secures a long-awaited sixth World Cup in 2026.

Under Ancelotti, Brazil has played eight matches, recording four wins, two draws, and two losses.

Looking ahead to the 2026 World Cup, Brazil will compete in Group C alongside Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland. Prior to the tournament, the Selecao will face France and Croatia in friendly fixtures scheduled for March.
