Gżira United win direct encounter against Floriana

In the most anticipated match from the fourth round of the Malta Veterans Premier League, champions Gżira United defeated Floriana 4–2 to move up to nine points in the standings.
The first half was balanced, although in the second half-hour of play the Maroons took full control of the match and secured the three points.
Kurt Magro scored a personal brace, while Kevin Sammut and Jonathan Pearson added further goals for the Maroons.
Gilbert Scerri and William Camenzuli were on target for Floriana.
The referee was Gordon Barbara.
Meanwhile, MFPA maintained their place at the top of the table following a 10–4 win over Hibernians.
George Frendo was the star of the night with four goals, while Mark Zammit, Jonathan Bondin and Stanimir Miloskovic each netted a personal brace.
Luke Satariano, Glanville Goodlip, Beppe Antignolo and Ilia Nazarov scored the goals for the Paolites.
The referee was Alper Can.
Luxol St Andrew’s continued their consistent form with a 4–2 victory over Żurrieq Wolves.
Karl Sacco was the standout player for the St Andrew’s side as he netted a hat-trick, while Gary Inguanez also found the back of the net.
Giuseppe Muscat and Bjorn Bondin reduced the deficit for Żurrieq Wolves.
The referee was Gordon Barbara.
Birkirkara St Helen’s earned their first win of the season after defeating Rabat Veterans 5–3.
Christian Caruana registered a hat-trick for Birkirkara, while Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza and Gilbert Camilleri also made it onto the scoresheet.
Rabat Ajax had Byron Fenech scoring a personal hat-trick.
