Bologna extended their impressive unbeaten away run to seven games across all competitions by holding Lazio to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico, ending the hosts’ four-match home winning streak in Serie A.

The visitors started brightly, with Riccardo Orsolini hitting the side-netting in the opening minute before Gustav Isaksen forced a sharp save from Federico Ravaglia at close range. Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel was also kept busy, notably denying Jens Odgaard after the striker pounced on a sloppy backpass.

Lazio broke the deadlock when Mattia Zaccagni, hero of Thursday’s Coppa Italia win over AC Milan, saw his initial shot parried by Ravaglia into the path of Isaksen, who tapped in the rebound. Bologna responded almost immediately, with Odgaard reacting quickly after Provedel tipped Nadir Zortea’s effort onto the post to level the score. This meant eight of Bologna’s last nine games had seen scores level at halftime.

The second half began more quietly, though Lazio went close through Matteo Guendouzi, whose side-footed strike was superbly saved by Ravaglia. Proving their resilience, Bologna’s keeper also denied Matteo Cancellieri as Lazio tried to assert control.

The match took another dramatic turn when Mario Gila was sent off for a second yellow following a foul on Santiago Castro. Despite being reduced to ten men, Lazio continued to threaten, but Bologna held firm.

The draw ended Lazio’s four-game home winning streak, while Bologna, unbeaten in 15 matches in all competitions, remain firmly in the hunt for a Champions League spot, sitting just two points outside the top four.
