Everton ease past Nottingham Forest to climb into top five

Sean Dyche endured a frustrating return to his former club as Everton secured a commanding 3-0 Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest at Goodison Park.
Everton got off to a dream start, scoring within the opening 90 seconds. A free-kick just 22 seconds in unsettled Forest, and although the initial delivery was cleared, danger quickly returned. Kieran Dewsbury-Hall maneuvered down the left, cut onto his right foot, and delivered a teasing ball toward the near post. Defender Nikola Milenković inadvertently deflected it into his own net, giving the Toffees an early lead.
Everton have yet to lose this season after scoring first (W5, D2), and the early advantage set the tone for much of the first half. Jordan Pickford kept the clean sheet intact with a vital save from Elliot Anderson, a stop that proved crucial as Everton doubled their lead in first-half stoppage time.
Iliman Ndiaye won the ball deep in his own half, drove forward, and laid it off for Thierno Barry, who calmly slotted home his first goal for the club into the far corner.
Forest started the second half with renewed energy but struggled to create clear-cut chances against a composed Everton side. Pickford’s tame punch nearly allowed Igor Jesus a chance, but James Tarkowski scrambled the ball away from the line. Everton’s sustained pressure eventually paid off when Dewsbury-Hall fired a low strike through a crowded penalty area, netting his third goal in four games and sealing the victory.
The win marks Everton’s third in four matches under David Moyes, propelling them into fifth in the Premier League table. Forest, meanwhile, remain precariously close to the relegation zone, just three points above the drop.
