Carlo Ancelotti warns Brazil of tough group featuring ‘outstanding’ Morocco

Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged the challenge ahead after his team were drawn into a “difficult” group alongside 2022 World Cup surprise semi-finalists Morocco at the 2026 tournament.
The five-time champions will compete in Group C, which also includes Scotland—making their first World Cup appearance in 28 years—and Haiti, returning to the competition for the first time since 1974, when they lost all three matches.
“Morocco were excellent at the last World Cup,” Ancelotti told Brazilian broadcaster Sportv.
“Scotland are a very solid side as well. It’s going to be quite tough,” he added.
Brazil open their campaign against Morocco on June 13, followed by a clash with Haiti six days later, before wrapping up their group matches against Scotland on June 24.
“We need to prepare well and aim to finish top of the group,” Ancelotti said.
Brazil have struggled for consistency since Qatar 2022 and are already on their fourth head coach in the aftermath of that tournament. In March, they endured a humbling 4–1 defeat to reigning world champions Argentina in South American qualifying.
The Seleção have historical familiarity with their group opponents. They faced both Morocco and Scotland in the 1998 World Cup group stage, beating Morocco 3–0 and Scotland 2–1 en route to reaching the final, where they lost 3–0 to hosts France.
Six years later, Brazil also played a memorable friendly against Haiti in Port-au-Prince, delivering a 6–0 win with legends such as Ronaldo and Ronaldinho in the starting lineup.
