UEFA has reduced Bayern Munich forward Luis Díaz’s Champions League suspension from three matches to two after reviewing his appeal, the governing body announced on Friday.

Díaz was initially issued a three-game ban for “serious rough play” following his red card in Bayern’s 2–1 win over defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in November, after a heavy challenge on Achraf Hakimi.

UEFA confirmed the appeal had been upheld but did not provide further details regarding the justification for the reduced punishment. The decision means the 28-year-old Colombian will now be eligible to return for Bayern’s clash against Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise in January.

Bayern currently sit third in their Champions League group with 12 points from five matches, their only defeat coming against Arsenal. They are set to host Sporting on Tuesday as they continue their push for a knockout-stage place.
