The futsal scene in Malta delivered another exciting week full of goals, standout performances, and shifting standings across both the men’s and women’s leagues. In the men’s division, University of Malta and Birżebbuġa St Peter’s continued to set the pace at the top, while the women’s league saw Zero Sei Futsal seize outright leadership after capitalising on St George’s slip.

MEN’S LEAGUE

Sliema Futsal Fort Fitness celebrated their first victory of the season with a commanding 5–1 win over the Malta FA Futsal Selection U17. Brazilian playmaker Rodrigues Silva Leandro was the star of the match, driving his team to an important breakthrough triumph.

The University of Malta reaffirmed their title credentials with a dominant 7–0 victory against Marsaskala Futsal Legends — a result that strengthens their status as one of the teams to beat this season.

Zejtun Corinthians Futsal also grabbed their first three points with an efficient 7–4 performance, while Birżebbuġa St Peter’s maintained their perfect record by defeating Santa Venera Lightnings 8–1. Santa Venera are still searching for their first point of the campaign.

At the top, University of Malta and Birżebbuġa St Peter’s remain tied on 9 points each. Marsaskala Legends follow with 6, while Luxol St Andrews, Sliema Fort Fitness, and Zejtun Corinthians all sit on 3 points. At the other end of the table, the U19 Selection, U17 Selection, and Santa Venera Lightnings remain without points.

WOMEN’S LEAGUE

The highlight of the weekend was a thrilling 4–4 draw between St George’s Futsal and Swieqi United Futsal — a fast-paced contest that kept both sets of supporters on edge until the final whistle.

Taking full advantage of that result, Zero Sei Futsal delivered a dominant 10–2 win over Parr Mela Rockets Futsal, a victory that propelled them to the top of the standings. With clinical finishing and solid teamwork, Zero Sei now stand alone as league leaders.

Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus also impressed, securing an emphatic 8–0 victory over St Andrews Futsal to cement their place in the chasing pack.

Zero Sei now lead the table with 9 points, followed by St George’s Futsal on 7 and Luxol Futsal Argus on 6. St Andrews sit on 3 points, Swieqi United have one, while Parr Mela Rockets are still looking for their first points of the season.
