West Ham Rally from Behind to Beat Burnley, Claim Back-to-Back Wins

West Ham United secured back-to-back Premier League victories with a thrilling 3-2 win over relegation rivals Burnley at the London Stadium, extending their unbeaten head-to-head streak against the Clarets to seven matches.
Riding the momentum from last weekend’s triumph over Newcastle, West Ham started brightly, pressing high and looking dangerous from the outset. Jarrod Bowen had an early free-kick blocked by the Burnley wall, showing intent but failing to produce a breakthrough.
Burnley had the first clear chance of the match when Kyle Walker’s incisive ball in behind the defence found Quilindschy Hartman. His teasing cross across the six-yard box narrowly evaded Zian Flemming’s tap-in.
West Ham eventually struck first, ten minutes before halftime. Lesley Ugochukwu was a constant threat in the first half, and his precise delivery allowed Flemming to power a header back across goal into the corner, giving Scott Parker’s men the lead.
However, Burnley’s advantage was short-lived. Just before the break, a clever short-corner routine caught the visitors off guard, and Crysencio Summerville’s blocked effort fell kindly for Callum Wilson, who headed home from close range—his seventh goal in his last five starts against Burnley. The halftime whistle came at a tricky moment for West Ham, who were beginning to build momentum.
After the break, chances were limited. West Ham looked the more dangerous side, with Summerville hitting the side netting and Bowen forcing Martin Dubravka into a sharp save from the edge of the box.
Burnley’s resistance finally crumbled under 15 minutes from time. Lucas Paquetá’s curling shot was parried into danger by Dubravka, and substitute Tomas Soucek was perfectly positioned to bundle the ball home with his midriff. Soucek struck again shortly after, this time with a long-range effort fumbled by Dubravka, allowing Kyle Walker-Peters to slot in the rebound and seal the victory.
Josh Cullen grabbed a late consolation for Burnley, but it was too little, too late, as the Clarets suffered their fifth defeat in six away league games this season.
