Everton overcame a lackluster Fulham side to return to winning ways, with goals in either half from Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane securing David Moyes’ side just their second victory in eight games.

After suffering their first defeat at Goodison Park in their previous home outing, Everton were eager to bounce back against a Fulham side they had struggled to beat in their last four visits to Merseyside.

The Toffees started brightly but failed to convert early chances. Thierno Barry’s header from Iliman Ndiaye’s pinpoint cross went wide, while James Garner’s ambitious 30-yard free-kick was comfortably saved by Bernd Leno.

Everton’s persistence paid off just before halftime. Amid a chaotic goalmouth scramble, Idrissa Gueye was quickest to react, slotting home after James Tarkowski’s header rebounded off the crossbar.

Fulham, under Marco Silva, came out after the break with renewed energy but struggled to create clear opportunities. Everton remained the more dangerous side, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall became the third Toffees player to see a goal disallowed as the hosts continued to push for a decisive second.

The visitors’ substitute Rodrigo Muniz nearly made an immediate impact, only to see his low drive saved by Jordan Pickford. Fulham were unable to build on the chance as Everton regained control of the match.

Everton finally put the game beyond doubt when Michael Keane rose above the Fulham defence to score his second goal of the campaign, sealing a comfortable 2-0 victory.

With the win, Everton head into the international break on a positive note, marking David Moyes’ 20th Premier League victory over Fulham—a club he has defeated more than any other in the league.

For Fulham, it was a disappointing afternoon, extending their away defeat streak to five games and giving Silva plenty to reflect on.
