Lija Athletic, Msida St Joseph, Qormi, Victoria Hotspurs, and Xgħajra Tornados all booked their places in the BOV Amateur Cup quarter-finals after securing victories in the Round of 16 on Saturday.

At the Sirens Stadium, Lija Athletic came from behind to defeat Luqa St Andrew’s 3–1. Sebastian Perdomo gave Luqa an early lead after just two minutes, but Ross McParland turned the match around for Lija with goals on 57 and 62 minutes. Gabriel Bonnici then sealed the win nine minutes from time.

In the same venue, Msida St Joseph overcame Ta’ Xbiex 3–1 after extra time. Kurt Zammit opened the scoring on 11 minutes before Bledi Alla equalised just before half-time. The match remained level until extra time, when an own goal early in the second period restored Msida’s lead, and Paris Micallef added a third four minutes later to secure their spot in the next round.

Qormi were in dominant form, thrashing Dingli Swallows 5–1. David Emmanuel Garba struck after just two minutes, but Juan Tenorio briefly levelled for Dingli six minutes later. Ayrton Azzopardi restored Qormi’s advantage on 28 minutes, and an own goal soon after made it 3–1. In the second half, Garba added another before Jayden Zac Borg completed the rout on 78 minutes.

At the Luxol Stadium, Victoria Hotspurs emerged victorious after a thrilling 4–4 draw with Qrendi, winning 5–4 on penalties. Qrendi raced into a two-goal lead through Brandon Bray (11’) and Joseph Jojo Ogunnupe (36’), but Kurt Borg and Christian Mercieca pulled the Hotspurs level by the 51st minute. Ogunnupe’s penalty on 64 minutes restored Qrendi’s advantage, only for Emmanuel Mbong to equalise again.

In extra time, Rondinely put Victoria ahead for the first time, but Gianfranco Micallef dramatically levelled in the final minute. In the shootout, Rondinely, Mbong, Mercieca, Wagner, and Dylan Mercieca converted for the Gozitan side, while only Mikele Vella missed for Qrendi, sending Victoria into the quarter-finals.

In the day’s final fixture, Xgħajra Tornados clinched a late 1–0 win over San Ġwann, thanks to a decisive goal from Richmond Baratuipre Hanson four minutes from time.
