Juventus’ struggles showed no sign of easing as their winless streak stretched to eight matches across all competitions, following a 1-0 defeat to SS Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico — a result that heaps further pressure on head coach Igor Tudor.

Lazio began brightly and took an early lead with their first real opportunity. After just nine minutes, Toma Bašić’s effort from distance took a wicked deflection and nestled into the bottom corner, leaving Mattia Perin with no chance.

The hosts continued to frustrate the Bianconeri throughout the first half with their disciplined defending. Maurizio Sarri’s side almost doubled their advantage just after the half-hour mark, as Matteo Guendouzi and Gustav Isaksen were both denied in quick succession by some last-ditch Juventus defending in a crowded penalty area.

Juventus’ best chance to equalize came in the 34th minute when Jonathan David latched onto a clever through ball, but Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel produced a fine save to preserve his side’s narrow lead. That proved to be Juventus’ only shot on target before the interval — a reflection of their lack of attacking spark, as Tudor’s men went into halftime looking short of ideas.

The second half saw a rise in intensity but little in the way of clear-cut chances. Lazio threatened again in the 65th minute when Boulaye Dia’s low strike forced a sharp save from Perin at his near post.

In search of inspiration, Tudor introduced Khephren Thuram for Teun Koopmeiners immediately afterward. The substitute almost made an impact 10 minutes later, directing a header on target that Provedel did well to turn away — offering Juventus brief hope of a comeback.

However, as the visitors pushed bodies forward in the closing stages, gaps began to appear at the back. Lazio nearly capitalized twice on the counter, with both Isaksen and Pedro going close to sealing the win.

The victory lifts Lazio into the top half of the Serie A table and extends their unbeaten run to four matches. Juventus, meanwhile, drop to eighth and remain without a competitive win since mid-September, as pressure continues to mount on Tudor and his struggling squad.
