Luxol St Andrews and the University of Malta are set to clash in a “best of three” Futsal Premier League final this May after securing their spots in contrasting semifinal performances.
Luxol St Andrews booked their return to the final by overwhelming Birżebbuġa 8-1. Despite an early lead from the underdogs, Luxol’s relentless pressure eventually broke the game open, sealing a comfortable series sweep.
In contrast, the University of Malta endured a much tighter battle against Marsaskala. In a back-and-forth encounter where Marsaskala led twice, the University showed resilience to claw back a 2-2 draw. That result, paired with their previous first-leg win, was just enough to see them through to the championship series.
