Liam Sciberras clinched his first victory of the season in the 4th Skeet Selection Shoot held on Sunday, April 19, 2026. In a tightly contested event at the Malta National Shooting Ranges, Sciberras demonstrated remarkable composure to edge out his rivals in the final stages.

The Final Showdown

The competition saw a high level of marksmanship, particularly between Sciberras and Andre Cassar. Both shooters ended the qualification round tied at 116/125, with Sciberras taking the top seed after a +2 shoot-off.

In the final, Sciberras maintained his narrow lead, finishing with 48/60 successful hits. Cassar pushed him until the very last station, finishing just one point behind with 47/60 to take second place. David Gatt completed the podium in third place overall, having qualified with 106/125 and hitting 37/50 in the final.

Class Results

The event also featured strong performances across the divisions:

  • Class A: Liam Sciberras (116/125) led the pack, followed by Andre Cassar (116/125) and David Gatt (106/125).
  • Class B: Mikaela Galea delivered a standout performance to win the category with 99/125. Jamie Buttigieg followed in second (82/125), with Rennie Deguara taking third.

What’s Next?

The local shooting community now looks forward to the prestigious MSSF GP – 5th Selection Shoot. The two-day event is scheduled for 16 and 17 May 2026 and will once again be hosted at the National Shooting Ranges.
