Tarxien Rainbows FC boost survival hopes with derby win over Hibernians FC

Tarxien Rainbows FC claimed a crucial 3–2 victory over neighbours Hibernians FC at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, boosting their fight to avoid relegation.
It was a determined and composed performance from Tarxien, coached by Jacques Scerri, as they showed resilience to overturn the score and secure three vital points.
The Rainbows made a strong start, taking the lead after just 10 minutes through Marko Musulin. However, Hibernians responded well and turned the game around midway through the first half.
Miullen equalised on 17 minutes before Charleston put the Paolites ahead six minutes later, giving Hibernians a 2–1 advantage.
Tarxien refused to let their heads drop and were rewarded just before halftime when they were awarded a penalty. Claudio Murici converted from the spot to restore parity at 2–2.
With the match finely poised, Tarxien continued to push forward after the break, and their persistence paid off just past the hour mark when Angel Valverde found the net to score what proved to be the winning goal.
The result sees Tarxien move level on points with Żabbar St Patrick FC as the battle to avoid relegation intensifies.
