Sunday morning saw the second leg of the Hudson 10K Series return to the rolling hills of Maqluba. This decade-old course lived up to its reputation, delivering a high-stakes showdown between the rising Tommy Wallbank and the veteran Charlton Debono. After running neck-and-neck for most of the race, Wallbank pulled away in the final 1.5km to clock a winning 33:19, followed by Debono (33:41) and Mark Herrera in third.

In the women’s 10K, Josann Attard Pulis took the top spot with a solid 42:48, fending off a persistent Catherine Chetcuti (43:06), while Therese Calleja rounded out the podium.

The 5K events were equally thrilling:

  • Men: Adrian Cutajar (16:59) narrowly beat Brandon Saliba by just two seconds in a sprint finish.
  • Women: Charyl Fava dominated with a sub-20-minute finish (19:56), while Chrystal Parnis and Anabel Casingena both earned their first series podium spots.

The organizers extended their thanks to Hudson, Nike, local councils, and the volunteers who made the event possible. The series now moves to Dingli for the third race on Sunday, May 10th.
