Real Betis are now without a win in seven LaLiga matches (D5, L2) after being held to a 1-1 draw by Osasuna at Estadio El Sadar.

After a promising campaign, Betis’ form has taken a sharp downturn in recent weeks, with their grip on a UEFA Europa League qualification place now significantly weakened.

They faced an Osasuna side that had lost just two of their previous 11 league matches, yet Betis made a bright start and opened the scoring inside the first 10 minutes.

A quick counterattack saw Hector Bellerin thread a precise pass into the path of Abde Ezzalzouli, who calmly finished from outside the area to give the visitors the lead.

Osasuna responded quickly and almost equalised, but Valentin Gomez produced a crucial block to deny Jon Moncayola at the back post. Ezzalzouli remained a constant threat and forced a fine save from Sergio Herrera with a long-range effort.

However, with less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Osasuna were awarded a penalty when Gómez brought down Jorge Herrando after Alvaro Valles had initially saved a header from Ante Budimir.

Budimir, who had already scored 15 LaLiga goals this season—behind only Vedat Muriqi and Kylian Mbappe in the scoring charts—kept his composure from the spot to level the match.

After the restart, Osasuna emerged as the more threatening side, creating two excellent opportunities through the lively Victor Munoz to take the lead. First, Alvaro Valles produced a superb save to push his curling effort over the bar, before teammate Ante Budimir inadvertently blocked his close-range attempt.

Iker Munoz then came close with a low free-kick that narrowly missed the target, while Abde Ezzalzouli tested Sergio Herrera at the other end as Real Betis finally showed signs of attacking intent.

In the end, neither side could find a decisive breakthrough, meaning Betis risk slipping to sixth place if Celta Vigo defeat Real Oviedo later on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Osasuna extended their impressive home form, remaining unbeaten in their last 10 matches in front of their own supporters. Their hopes of European qualification are still alive, sitting five points behind the top six with seven games remaining.
