Rangers hit six past Falkirk to close gap on leaders Hearts

Rangers staged a remarkable comeback from two goals down to keep their Scottish Premiership title push on track, securing a thrilling 6-3 victory away to Falkirk on Sunday.
Danny Rohl’s side endured a chaotic first half, falling behind to strikes from Ben Broggio and Finn Yeats.
However, Tochi Chukwuani pulled one back just before the break with a contentious goal, giving Rangers a lifeline heading into half-time.
The visitors then turned the game on its head with a blistering start to the second half, scoring three times in the space of 11 minutes.
Youssef Chermiti levelled the score before Nicolas Raskin fired Rangers into the lead, and Bojan Miovski added a fourth to cap the turnaround.
Although Calvin Miller converted a penalty for Falkirk, Rangers quickly reasserted control, with Chermiti and Miovski both netting again to wrap up an emphatic win.
Victories for Hearts and Celtic on Saturday had piled the pressure on Rangers to keep up in the title race.
They rose to the challenge, moving to within a single point of leaders Hearts while opening a two-point gap over third-placed Celtic as the battle for the title intensifies.
Rangers have not lifted the trophy since 2021, while Hearts are chasing their first league triumph since 1960, hoping to unseat reigning champions Celtic.
This emphatic win was a stark contrast to Rangers’ previous trip to Falkirk in October, when a 1-1 draw marked the final match of Russell Martin’s difficult spell in charge, which ended amid fan unrest.
Although Rangers have improved under Danny Rohl, that progress was not immediately evident as Falkirk struck early.
Inside six minutes, Calvin Miller delivered a dangerous low cross that found Ben Broggio, who capitalised on poor defending to finish from close range.
Falkirk doubled their advantage in the 26th minute when Finn Yeats unleashed a powerful strike from the edge of the box that flew past Jack Butland.
Tochi Chukwuani pulled one back in unusual circumstances just before half-time. Falkirk’s defence hesitated, believing the ball had gone out of play, allowing him to poke home from close range after it rebounded off the post. A VAR review followed, but with no clear evidence to overturn the decision, the goal stood.
Rangers drew level shortly after the restart, as Youssef Chermiti tapped in from a cross delivered by Djeidi Gassama in the 47th minute.
The comeback was completed just five minutes later when Nicolas Raskin struck from 20 yards, firing a superb effort into the far corner before celebrating wildly with the travelling supporters.
Raskin quickly shook off a knock from the celebrations and was heavily involved again as Rangers extended their lead. His precise cross in the 58th minute was turned in from close range by Bojan Miovski.
Falkirk briefly threatened a response when Calvin Miller converted from the penalty spot in the 70th minute after James Tavernier fouled Filip Lissah.
However, Rangers quickly restored control, with Chermiti smashing home from distance just four minutes later, before Miovski added a sixth goal late on to seal an emphatic victory.
