Nigeria set to play Portugal and Poland in June friendlies

The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that the national team will take on Portugal and Poland in a pair of high-profile international friendlies scheduled for June.
Eric Chelle’s side recently competed in a four-nation tournament in Turkey, where they recorded a win over Iran and played out a 2-2 draw with Jordan.
According to the NFF, the Super Eagles will first face Poland at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on June 3, before taking on Portugal a week later at a venue yet to be confirmed.
The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed through its FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport, that the Super Eagles will face Poland at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on June 3. Their second friendly against Portugal is scheduled for June 10 in Portugal, with the venue expected to be announced soon.
The fixture against Portugal will serve as the hosts’ final preparation match before they travel to North America for this summer’s FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Meanwhile, Nigeria are also set to defend their title at the Unity Cup Tournament in London, scheduled to take place from May 26 to May 30.
The Super Eagles, however, will not be part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after failing to overcome DR Congo in a play-off held in Morocco.
Despite that setback, Nigeria recently secured a third-place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations, defeating Egypt on penalties after a draw in regulation time.
