Qormi Daikin win Hockey Championship for the 17th time

Qormi Daikin have been crowned national hockey champions for the 17th time in their history after defeating GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks 7–4.
The team, led by Andre Ghio, needed just one point to mathematically secure the title, but went on to claim all three following a highly convincing performance.
Tommy Kok was the standout player for Qormi, netting a hat-trick, while Nathan Pace Gasan added a brace. Kyle Micallef and Julian Zahra also got on the scoresheet to complete the victory.
For Żurrieq, Christ Agius scored twice, with Nicky Runza and Stefano Schembri also finding the net to reduce the deficit.
At the final whistle, celebrations began among Qormi’s players, officials, and numerous supporters. The champions still have two remaining league fixtures against Floriana and White Hart before being officially presented with the trophy.
Umpires for the match were Karl Chircop and James Mizzi.
In another match from the championship, Floriana Young Stars registered a comfortable 5–0 victory over White Hart.
Deemer Rapinett, Karl Chircop, Marvin Vella, Joe Ellul Turner, Justin Farrugia, and Anton Saliba were among the key contributors for the Greens in a dominant display.
Umpires for this encounter were Alessandro Amore and Keith Calleja.
