Ghajnsielem stun Nadur in high-scoring thriller

In an action-packed Matchday 17 clash of the GFA BOV Gozo Football League, Ghajnsielem FC secured a decisive 4-2 victory over Nadur Youngsters FC, solidifying their grip on the upper half of the table.
Lightning Start
The match exploded into life from the opening whistle. Ghajnsielem took the lead just two minutes in when Ewertton Jose Spirandelli Costa, better known as Tom Tom, found the back of the net. Before Nadur could catch their breath, Deison Arvey Cuero doubled the advantage in the 4th minute, leaving the Youngsters reeling.
Nadur’s Resurgence
Nadur refused to fold and fought their way back into the contest late in the first half. A 41st-minute own goal by Daniel Murillo Borrero gave them a lifeline, and they completed the comeback right on the stroke of halftime through David Oliveira Souza, sending the teams into the tunnel locked at 2-2.
Ghajnsielem Pull Away
The second half remained tense until the 66th minute, when Ghajnsielem were awarded a penalty. Tom Tom stepped up to calmly slot home his second goal of the match, restoring the lead. In the 74th minute, Deison Arvey Cuero also completed his brace, effectively killing off the game and securing the three points for the Black and Whites.
Referee Sandro Spiteri oversaw a contest that sees Ghajnsielem move to 27 points from 14 matches, trailing leaders Kercem Ajax, while Nadur Youngsters remain rooted to the bottom of the 1st Division standings.
