The Malta Handball Association Knock-Out Finals took place at the University Sports Hall,
bringing together the country’s top youth and senior teams for two days of decisive and high-
intensity handball action.

Across six finals, the weekend delivered to strong performances, momentum shifts, and
commanding displays from several sides as silverware was decided in front of an enthusiastic
crowd.

U15 Boys Final
Swieqi Phoenix 18 – 13 La Salle
Swieqi Phoenix set the tone early with a strong opening, establishing control from the outset.
Although La Salle rallied and narrowed the gap midway through the contest, Phoenix
maintained composure and closed out the match confidently to secure the title.

U15 Girls Final
Swieqi EBHS Phoenix 26 – 21 Kavallieri
Phoenix emerged victorious in a competitive encounter against Kavallieri. Despite periods of
resistance from Kavallieri, Phoenix maintained their edge and capitalised on key phases of
play to lift the trophy.

U17 Girls Final
Swieqi EBHS Malta Phoenix 23 – 10 Kavallieri
Phoenix delivered a dominant performance in the U17 Girls final. Demonstrating superior
physical strength and pace, they controlled proceedings from early on and secured a
comprehensive victory.

U19 Men Final
Kavallieri 28 – 17 Shooting Stars
Kavallieri proved too strong for Shooting Stars in the U19 Men’s decider. Faster in transition
and better prepared tactically, Kavallieri dictated the tempo throughout, leaving Shooting
Stars unable to effectively counter their structured and disciplined approach.

Women’s Final
Swieqi RGF Malta Phoenix 39 – 22 Kavallieri
Swieqi Phoenix produced one of the standout performances of the weekend in the Women’s
final. Kavallieri, missing nearly their full starting seven for much of the season, struggled to contain a Swieqi Phoenix side that started aggressively and maintained intensity throughout
to claim a convincing win.

Men’s Final

Kavallieri 32 – 25 Swieqi Gasan Mamo Phoenix

The Men’s final provided the most dramatic turnaround of the weekend. Swieqi Phoenix led
15–10 at half-time, capitalising on four missed Kavallieri penalties and controlling much of
the first half.
However, the second half told a different story. Kavallieri mounted an emphatic 8–0 run that
shifted the momentum entirely. From that point onward, Kavallieri displayed resilience and
determination, taking control of the contest and ultimately sealing a confident and well-
earned victory.
The weekend’s finals once again highlighted the competitive depth of Maltese handball
across all age groups.

The Malta Handball Association extends its appreciation to players, coaches, officials,
volunteers and supporters who contributed to the successful staging of this season’s Knock-
Out Finals.
