Michail Antonio has signed for his first club since undergoing surgery following a serious car accident, with Qatari side Al Sailiya SC confirming his arrival on a free transfer on Monday.

The club announced the deal on X, sharing a photo of the 35-year-old Jamaica international in their shirt alongside a video compilation of his goals and training highlights. The length and financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Antonio had been without a club since leaving West Ham United in August, after the Premier League outfit decided not to renew his contract.

He has not featured in club football since December 2024, when his car struck a tree as he was driving home from training. The accident left him with multiple fractures to his thigh, requiring surgery and more than three weeks in hospital.

The forward made his competitive return in June 2025, coming on as an 85th-minute substitute for Jamaica national football team in their 1-0 Gold Cup group-stage defeat to Guatemala national football team.

Antonio joined West Ham in 2015 and went on to make 323 appearances, scoring 83 goals in all competitions. He is the club’s all-time leading Premier League scorer, with 68 goals in the competition.
