Real Madrid drawn against Manchester City, PSG set to meet Chelsea in Champions League last 16

Play-off victors Newcastle United will face Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16, while Real Madrid have been drawn against Manchester City 3-1 aggregate win over Benfica on Wednesday, a tie overshadowed by alleged racist abuse from Gianluca Prestiani directed at Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior in the first leg. Real Madrid now take on Manchester City, a side they faced earlier in the competition, suffering a 2-1 defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Newcastle, who beat Qarabag FK 9-3 on aggregate in the play-off, face a significantly tougher challenge against Barcelona, a fixture that recalls memorable encounters between the two sides in the early 2000s.
Elsewhere, Bodo/Glimt, the surprise story of this year’s tournament after eliminating Inter Milan in the play-off, have been paired with Sporting CP.
Atletico Madrid, having defeated Club Brugge, will face Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur over two legs, while reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain take on Chelsea.
League phase winners Arsenal will meet German side Bayer Leverkusen.
The Champions League final is scheduled for May 30 in Budapest.
Round of 16 fixtures:
- PSG vs Chelsea

Pathways to the final:
Alongside the last-16 draw, the tournament bracket to the final was revealed.
Liverpool and PSG could meet in the quarter-finals, potentially repeating last year’s classic tie. Arsenal, if they overcome Leverkusen, could face the winner of Bodo/Glimt vs Sporting CP in the quarters, before a potential semi-final clash with Barcelona.
For Real Madrid, a quarter-final showdown with Bayern Munich is the likely path should they eliminate Manchester City, with a semi-final against PSG or Liverpool possible thereafter.
