The Easter competitions organised by the Malta Blackball Federation continued to gather momentum in recent days, with a number of teams sealing their place in the next round across the various categories.

In the Regional Easter Trophy, Żebbuġ St Joseph were pushed all the way by Domus Kids Żejtun A before emerging with a hard-fought 23–20 victory.

Action in the Community Easter Trophy produced several closely contested encounters. Birżebbuġa St Peter’s A advanced after defeating Cospicua Rangers 21–16, while Ħamrun 147 D claimed local bragging rights with a convincing 21–11 derby win over Ħamrun 1889 Bar. Selmun Sports Club C registered a narrow 21–18 success against Żebbuġ St Joseph C, and San Ġwann Tiki Taka Buddies overcame Siġġiewi Montekristo B by a 21–16 margin.

Birkirkara Juve also progressed, edging past Selmun Sports Club B in a tight 21–19 contest. Siġġiewi Montekristo C secured their qualification with a 21–18 win over Birżebbuġa St Peter’s B.

Elsewhere, Birkirkara Boċċi and PL Floriana booked their spots in the next phase with comfortable victories, defeating Qormi Anici 21–13 and Mrieħel Billiard House B 21–12 respectively.

Attention now turns to the National Easter Trophy, which gets underway on 6 March and will feature the leading Blackball teams competing for one of the most prestigious honours on the local calendar.
