The EquestriMalta President’s Cup Final will take centre stage on Sunday, 1 March, marking the fifth edition of the race since the establishment of EquestriMalta as the sport’s governing authority and main sponsor of the championship.

The competition itself has been part of the local trotting calendar since 1992, making it one of the most prestigious fixtures in Maltese harness racing.

Barrier Draw and Prize Money

During a press conference, the 12 finalists drew their starting numbers behind the mobile gate according to their finishing positions in the two semi-finals.

This year’s winner will claim a record first prize of €5,000, while the next four finishers will earn €2,500, €1,500, €500, and €200 respectively.

Race Time and Supporting Event

The President’s Cup Final will be the seventh race on Sunday’s programme and is scheduled for approximately 16:25.

Adding to the day’s attractions, the Mini President’s Cup will also be held, featuring two pony trotting finals driven by children from the academy — an initiative that continues to promote youth participation in the sport.

With a record purse, a strong field of finalists, and a full programme of racing, the President’s Cup promises to be one of the highlights of the Maltese trotting season.
