Attard Edex Kings won the opening round of the MAFA Second Division championship and subsequently secured promotion to the First Division.

The team, led by Elliott Navarro, collected 22 points from eight matches, registering seven wins and one draw, and proved to be the most consistent side throughout the opening phase of the season.

Gudja Wanderers finished in second place with a total of 16 points, one point ahead of Swieqi United AFC, who concluded the first round with 15 points.

Following the withdrawal of St Paul’s Bay NMFC from the championship, the Malta Amateur Football Association decided to amend the format of the second round. All teams will now start the next phase with zero points, with each side set to play a further eight matches.

The winner of the second round, or closing round, will face Attard Edex Kings in a final to determine the overall league champions.

The second round of the Second Division is scheduled to begin on 28 February, with matches to be played at the Marsaxlokk and Qormi grounds.
