Jean-Philippe Mateta eyes AC Milan move to prove himself at European powerhouse

Jean-Philippe Mateta is reportedly set on a move to AC Milan, driven by a desire to prove himself at the highest level of European football.
A transfer from Crystal Palace to Nottingham Forest had always seemed unlikely, as Mateta’s ambition is to play Champions League football and solidify his status within France’s World Cup squad.
Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus were also reportedly interested in the striker, and sources revealed earlier this week that Mateta is determined to join a traditional European powerhouse.
Nottingham Forest had hoped to sign the forward, but concerns over the player’s ambitions have now been realized, with interest from bigger clubs taking priority.
Mateta and Crystal Palace have been in contract talks this season but failed to reach an agreement that satisfied both parties. The Eagles initially planned to keep him until a new manager was appointed, but they have now decided to cash in. Discussions over a transfer fee are ongoing, with reports suggesting it could be around €35 million.
The move would represent a major signing for AC Milan, bringing in a player at the peak of his career.
The 28-year-old striker is reportedly excited by the prospect of joining one of Europe’s most storied clubs, and his representatives have urged Crystal Palace to reach an agreement on the fee once Milan’s proposal was presented.
