Inter Milan overturned a two-goal deficit to thrash Pisa 6-2, securing their ninth win in 10 league games (D1) and moving six points clear at the top of Serie A.

The Nerazzurri were aiming to bounce back from a midweek Champions League defeat to Arsenal and faced a Pisa side known for their resilience on the road. However, the visitors struck first in spectacular fashion. Yann Sommer’s pass intended for Piotr Zielinski was intercepted by Stefano Moreo, who lobbed the ball into an empty net to give Pisa a shock lead.

Moreo doubled the advantage with a near-post header from Matteo Tramoni’s corner, leaving Inter stunned. But the hosts quickly turned the game around. A Tramoni handball gave Inter a penalty, which Zielinski converted, and Lautaro Martínez powered home a header from Federico Dimarco’s cross to level the score.

Inter took the lead before halftime when Pio Esposito headed in Alessandro Bastoni’s delivery, completing a frantic first 45 minutes.

After the break, Inter dominated, though Pisa keeper Simone Scuffet produced a series of impressive saves, denying both Esposito and Dimarco, and later parrying a Marcus Thuram shot. Pisa had moments of danger, including Simone Canestrelli’s towering header that narrowly missed the target.

Inter put the game beyond doubt when Dimarco scored a spectacular volley that clipped in off the post. Ange-Yoan Bonny added another brilliant solo goal, before Henrikh Mkhitaryan capped the evening with a header to make it 6-2.

The victory keeps Inter firmly in control of the Serie A title race, though AC Milan could reduce the gap to three points with a win over Roma on Sunday.

For Pisa, the defeat leaves them bottom of the table, extending their winless league run to 11 games (D5, L6).
